The past several days have been incredibly difficult for many across Central Texas. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the recent flooding—those who have experienced loss, those who are still waiting for news of loved ones, and those whose homes and communities have been devastated. We are grieving alongside our neighbors and lifting them up in our thoughts and prayers during this unimaginable time.

We know many within our school community have close ties to those who are enduring heartbreaking loss and uncertainty. In times like these, we are reminded of the strength and compassion that define the Lake Travis community. To support our families and neighbors during this challenging time, we have compiled a collection of helpful tools and resources on our district website. These include:

  • Guidance for talking with children about trauma and grief

  • Information on donation drives and local relief efforts

  • Emergency alert and weather safety resources

  • Volunteer opportunities to assist those most impacted

These resources are available under the Counseling and Health Services section on our website. We will continue to update this page as more information becomes available.

Lake Travis ISD is here to support our students, staff, and community through this difficult journey. If there’s anything our district staff can do for you, don’t hesitate to reach out to Jennifer Garrigan, Director of Counseling and Health Services, at 512-533-5940, or at garriganj@ltisdschools.org
